It happened south of Exit 16 at about 6:30 a.m.

Initial reports were that there were 22 people hurt and 2 of the injuries were very serious.

The two patients in critical condition and 10 less seriously hurt were taken to Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx.  10 other patients were taken to North Central Bronx Hospital.

Police say the bus hit a guard rail near the toll plaza at Exit 16.

There was no information on where the bus was traveling to or from and the exact number of passengers on-board.
