Cops seize rifles, ammo after marina guard threatened

Police on Long Island have arrested a Brookhaven man after a threat on a marina security guard turned up weapons and body armor at his home.
Suffolk County Police say it happened Sunday at about 1:15 p.m. at Squassux Landing Marina.
Police say that Thomas Lippens and his parents drove up to a security booth but was not allowed in because they did not have the proper key to enter.
They say that Lippens, 24, became irate and threat ed to come back with a gun.
Lippens came back on a dirt bike about 15 minutes later with what appeared to be a handgun, according to police. They say he threatened to kill the guard before riding off.
Police tracked Lippens to his home. They say he tried to run away but was arrested after a brief struggle.
They said they found ammunition and several weapons, including loaded assault rifles, throwing stars and knives in the home. A bullet proof vest and more than 20 marijuana plants and drug paraphernalia were also seized, according to police.
Lippens was charged with menacing, weapons and drug charges. He was held overnight and was scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Central Islip.
