McGaffey – State Police have arrested 18 y.o. Alex Redhorse of Gallup, New Mexico forthe Murder of 20 y.o. Alec Armijo and 20 y.o. Dusty Rye also of Gallup, NM.
In the afternoon hour of April 19th, Agents with the New Mexico State Police CriminalInvestigations Bureau were called to the scene of two badly burned bodies near thejunction of Forrest Road 191 and State Road 400. Through the course of theinvestigation, agents learned that a bicyclist reported a vehicle fire near Forrest Road 191.After emergency personnel responded, they observed a burned body in the vehicle.Within a couple hundred yards of the burned vehicle was a second burn location thatcontained a second badly burned body.
With the assistance of the Office of the Medical Investigator agents were able to confirmthe identities of the two victims as Alec Armijo and Dusty Rye of Gallup, New Mexico.In light of the identities and the investigation, agents were able to piece together what ledup to their death.
Alex Redhorse was arrested this morning and will face two open counts of Murder andfour counts of Tampering with Evidence. Redhorse was booked into the McKinleyCounty Detention Center on a $250,000.00 cash only bond. The affidavit for arrest hasbeen sealed by the McKinley County District Courthouse
